Parents

Welcome to our Family

We take pride in the strong connections that exist between our staff, our parents, and the school community as a whole. When these connections are strong, so too are the support systems that help our students and families thrive.

Parent Involvement – We have various opportunities available for you to support our community whether you want to join a group, or support in class we want you to feel like you are welcome

Fundraising Comittee

The fundraising committee is as involved as you want to be. We try to offer the students and parents opportunities to socialise (school disco, trivia night), raise funds (Bunnings BBQ, Colour Run) and keep traditions flowing (Mother and Fathers Day stalls).

The committee members volunteer to either lead an activity or support an activity leader in organising an event. Each year we set a target and focus for raising funds. The money raised is an important aspect of school improvement but more importantly we want to offer opportunities for our community to get together and strengthen their connections.

Be part of a friendly group of parents helping to raise funds for our school. It’s a great way to meet new people and make a big difference for our children.

School Council

Each year approximately four positions open up on the School Council. You can nominate yourself to be part of a committee of people who have the school’s best decisions at heart when making decisions about grounds, finances, and facilities that can improve our children’s learning environment.

Parent Helpers

We are always looking for people who can help out in the classroom, library, excursions and sport events,.

Our reading helpers participate in a 2 hour information session with our literacy leaders so that they can deliver the same expectations when supporting our readers in the classroom.

We have a library and a book room. They get messy and sometimes need a little TLC to maintain their upkeep. If you have a spare moment to manage book returns or tidy shelves come and see us, we appreciate your help.

Other classroom support will be based on individual teacher needs. We will send home notes asking for helpers and are always happy to hear from people who have a spare hour and would like to strengthen their school connections.

Our excursions benefit from parent helpers to reduce the amount of children in a work group. Our sporting events may need a referee, coach for the day or someone to marshal the cross country.

Our parent helper opportunities are numerous and we welcome the opportunity to strengthen our connections with you.

All volunteers are required to produce a valid Working With Children Check at the school office. This will be kept on file for reference.

Parent Financial Contributions

Government schools provide free tuition, but the reality is that voluntary contributions from families make a huge difference to the quality of your child’s education. These contributions allow us to provide programs, services and resources that go well beyond the basics and directly enhance every student’s learning and wellbeing.

We use these contributions to fund;

  • Essential stationery
  • Subscriptions such as; Mathletics, SMART Spelling, SeeSaw
  • Specialist Program Supplies for Art, Italian, STEM, Sports and Music.
  • Mathematics equipment
  • Library Books
  • Our First Aid service – We employ a nurse to work in the First Aid room for three days a week and an Educational Support Staff member (Level 2 First Aid Certificate) to work in the room two days a week.
  • Our Grounds and Maintenance Manager

Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports your child and helps us create the best possible learning environment.

You can make a voluntary contribution as a single payment through Compass, or contact Des in the office to arrange smaller payments per semester, term or week.

Payment Options

Thank you for supporting the school with a voluntary contribution. Families are welcome to choose the payment option that best suits them:

  • Compass Portal – make a once-off lump sum payment online
  • Instalments – pay per semester, term or week (arranged through the office
  • Direct Contact – call or visit Des in the office for personalised assistance
  • Financial Support – if you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact the Principal in confidence to discuss flexible options

We value open communication. Do you have a question, concern, or feedback? We’re here to listen.
